Exodus Lending is excited to announce that, effective February 7th, 2022, Anne Leland Clark will be our Executive Director.
Anne is a passionate advocate for financial inclusion and economic justice. She previously worked as the Financial Capability + Learning Director at Prepare + Prosper. Prior to that, she worked at the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Office of Economic Opportunity.
Her dedication to and excitement for Exodus Lending’s mission is longstanding. She first became involved in 2014, then joined our Board of Directors in 2018. Later, she served as the Board’s Vice President beginning in 2019 until stepping down during the Executive Director application process. With a firm commitment to building financial stability and equitable wealth-building opportunities for Minnesotans, our Board of Directors is confident Anne will be a truly visionary leader for Exodus Lending as we enter the next stage of our organization’s evolution. If you’d like to connect with Anne and welcome her to our team, please email her at [email protected].
The Board of Directors would like to extend their deepest thanks to outgoing Executive Director, Sara Nelson-Pallmeyer, who has held the position since May 2016. Because of her leadership, Exodus Lending is strong and well-positioned for continued success with Anne’s guidance.
My journey with Exodus Lending started in 2014 when a small group of impassioned community members started doing advocacy and community listening to fight the injustice of payday lending. I have never forgotten the words of those speaking truth to their experiences with payday lenders and the dignity, opportunity, and financial resiliency that was stripped from them.
I am eager to get to work in partnership with the community to not only continue our work to end predatory lending in Minnesota, but also to introduce new small-dollar lending solutions that advance economic and racial equity and justice.”
– Anne Leland Clark, incoming Executive Director
