The event will feature a round-robin tournament - giving each player the chance to face multiple opponents, without the need for elimination rounds.
Each round will be approx. 20 minutes. With a 10 minute break between rounds. Players will play until someone has won, OR, the 20 minute round is over, whichever comes first.
There will be 3 total rounds. Players can expect to play 3 different opponents.
Opponents will be randomized. After each round, one side of the table will shift one seat to face their next opponent.
1. Each player will be given a score card, and expected to track their own scores. The scorecards track not only wins and losses, but also the point spread, which will help determine the overall winners, if there's a tie.
2. Game Points - Players earn 2 points for a win, 3 points for a skunk, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss
3. Spread Points - The difference between each player's score at the end of a game is recorded as the spread.
4. At the end of the game, players will determine the winner and count the spread. Both players must initial each other's scorecards after each game to confirm the results.
Yes, a rules briefing will happen at 5:15 (be sure to arrive before then). There will also be standard rules printed on each table to ensure standard practices and rules are being followed.
Once all rounds are completed, scorecards will be collected. The final ranking is determined by:
- Total Game Points: The player with the most game points wins.
- Spread Points: If there’s a tie in game points, the spread points (point difference) will be used to break the tie and declare the winner.
The top 3 winners will receive handmade cribbage boards, and bragging rights.
