Springtime with Exodus Lending

The weather is heating up, and so are we! We’ve onboarded Family Freedom Center as a Resiliency Loan Partner, bringing our total partner count to 16. Our Southern Minnesota Organizer, Sophie Hoiseth, attended the Just Economy Conference in Washington, D.C., and participated in Lobbying Day with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. AND our Executive Director, Anne Leland, was invited to serve as an inaugural member of the research advisory council for the Center for Responsible Lending’s Julian Bond Financial Equity Institute. She’ll be heading out to Washington, D.C., to participate in the first council meeting later in April.

We are so grateful to have received 10k of general operating funds from the Greater Twin Cities United Way Promising Practices fund.
This month, the entire Board of Directors met for their annual staff retreat at EquaSpace. The day was full of good company, food, humor, and getting down to the business of celebrating the last and next 10 years of lending and advocacy! Our Board is now 13 strong, including our four newest members – Nyachoat, Tyrize, Shamina, and Sophia! Vienna and Mike were re-elected as President and Treasurer, respectively, Kim was elected as VP, and Adam is the newest member of the Executive Committee as our Secretary.
As we were preparing some updated financials to share with you all, we noticed something HUGE. We have almost disbursed the same amount of funds in the first three months of 2025 as we did in ALL of 2024. This means we are on track to achieve nearly 4x the deployment of last year, resulting in 4x the impact as our funds more effectively reach the community by year-end.
Join the gathering at the Minnesota State Capitol on April 2 at 9:30 am to rally for the Medical Debt Reset Act, a bill that would leverage a one-time appropriation of $5 million to wipe out the medical debt of 400,000 to 500,000 Minnesotans!

Register today to take part and also seize the opportunity to join your neighbors in speaking with elected officials about the bill.
