April Showers bring…Maxwell Poessneckers!
Something that has been on our minds for quite some time was hiring our first Development Director. It was important to us that we take this step when Exodus Lending was ready AND that we find someone who shared our community-centric fundraising approach and organizational values.

Well, the stars have aligned, and we are just giddy to introduce our newest team member! Max (he/they) is a farm kid at heart with a decade of experience in higher education and talent acquisition. He is the founder of Drop Deadlift Gorgeous, a grass-roots event designed to empower, support, and create visibility regarding the importance of trans+ inclusion in sport. As a neurodivergent, non-binary educator and community organizer, Max values the power of storytelling to foster genuine connections.

When not working, Max can be found remodeling his home, woodworking, canoeing, or diving into his latest ADHD-fueled hobby. He also serves as an ambassador for The Venture Out Project, leading outdoor adventures for queer and trans+ individuals across Minnesota. Max lives in St. Paul with his partner, Shelly, on their urban farm.

Let’s Celebrate Major Lending Milestones!
Our 10-year anniversary is coming up, and we are planning to throw a big shindig to celebrate later in the summer. So, even as Max is learning the ropes and onboarding, he will also be jumping right in and working with our Communications and Marketing Manager, Anika, to plan our summer fundraiser. Keep your eyes peeled for a Save the Date.

After first piloting our Resiliency Loan in December 2022, which provides personal loans to qualified Minnesotans through a network of non-profit partners, we are now up to 17 Resiliency Loan partners. As of April 28th, we have disbursed $121,277 of loan capital to just over 100 borrowers throughout Minnesota!

Thankful for Our Community
We are so grateful to Old National Bank Foundation for continuing to invest in us and our work, recently granting us $15,000 for “creating pathways from economic exploitation to mainstream banking” – and our super staff have been out and about doing just that. Our team has been onboarding Resiliency Loan partners, participating in an EquaSpace Hot One’s Challenge 😜, and telling everyone we know about all the work we are doing!
